Christoph CALiM is a Singer/Songwriter, Peacemaker & Human Rights Activist. CALiM is publishing his music on his independent record label “Guardians of Earth” which also supports social projects, environmental protection initiatives and peace protests and – as an artist community platform – wants to support artists in their freedom and independence. He calls himself a „Singing Poet“ & his songs a „Heartwarming Music“. Through the power of melodies & words he is trying building bridges and opening hearts, arms, eyes and gates into a new era of peace & freedom on Earth and in our society.
The Singer/Songwriter combines a variety of music styles such as Pop, Folk, Rock, Country, Reggae, Jazz, Latin, Classic, Rap or World Music. Christoph CALiM is an artist with content on the pulse of the time and he is always singing for the audience with an open heart and mind at the same time and in a full intensity. Singing, songwriting, channeling deep going messages and playing guitar is his way to activate feelings, to provoke thoughts and to spread hope & love worldwide: „I’m a man of the Earth, not a man of a state. I live to love, I don’t live to hate!“, underlines Calim in one of his songs.
Christoph Calim also published in 2016 his debut novel “Schlaraffenland” („land of plenty”) – a touching and exciting story about three Central European “rich kids”, who are lost in search of their identity.
Christoph CALiM ist Singer/Songwriter und sieht sich auch als Friedensstifter und singenden Menschenrechtsaktivisten. CALiM veröffentlicht seine Musik über sein Indie-Label „Guardians of Earth“, welches auch Sozial-Projekte, Umweltschutz-Initiativen und Friedensproteste unterstützen und als Artist-Community-Plattform Künstler:Innen in ihrer Freiheit und Unabhängigkeit fördern möchte.
Durch die Kraft von Melodien und Worten versucht CALiM Brücken zu bauen und Herzen, Arme sowie Augen zu öffnen, um die Gesellschaft positiv mitzuverändern. Es gelingt ihm vielfältige Musik-Genres wie Rock, Folk, Pop, Country, Reggae, Latin, Jazz, Klassik, Rap oder World Music als Einflüsse in seinen Songs harmonisch zu vereinen. CALiM sieht sich ganz klar als Kosmopolit und bezeichnet sich selbst scherzhaft als „Insalata Mista“, nachdem er zwar in Österreich geboren wurde, Teile seiner Familie aber aus Italien, Kroatien, Griechenland, Deutschland und den Niederlanden stammen: „I’m a man of the Earth, not a man of a state. Il cantautore Christoph CALiM è un costruttore di ponti tra culture, lingue, tempi, mondi e spiriti diversi. Con la forza delle melodie e delle parole apre cuori, braccia e porte in una nuova era di pace e libertà nella nostra società e sul pianeta terra.
Calim è uno dei cantautori più espressivi della sua generazione. Come chitarrista, riesce a combinare armoniosamente una varietà di generi musicali come rock, pop, latin, rap, reggae, country, grunge, world music, blues o folk e combina diverse lingue nelle sue canzoni: inglese, tedesco, italiano e dialetto austriaco. È un artista con gli occhi e le mani aperte, con il contenuto sul polso del tempo e dà sempre al pubblico il cuore e il cervello allo stesso tempo e in piena intensità. I testi di Calim sono allo stesso tempo poetici e semplici, la sua voce potente e morbida ed i temi cruciali e aperti. Cantare, comporre, scrivere e suonare la chitarra è il suo modo di attivare i sentimenti, provocare pensieri, cambiare il mondo e diffondere speranza e amore.
Christoph, il cui soprannome Calim è un’abbreviazione del personaggio dei fumetti italiano Calimero, ha anche pubblicato nel 2016 il suo romanzo d’esordio “Cuccagna” – una storia coinvolgente ed entusiasmante sul tempo infinito di tre ragazzi benestanti che per cercare se stessi finiranno per perdere la loro identità.
